Green Comets!

There is a comet that is passing by Earth now and then won’t be back here again for 50,000 years! It will look green in the night sky. We suggest trying to get a look at it as long as the sky allows this time. Who knows what will be happening on Earth the next time it flies by?
The comet is named C/2022 E3 (ZTF) and was discovered in March 2022 by astronomers Frank Masci and Bryce Bolin using the Zwicky Transient Facility (ZTF) at the Palomar Observatory in California. The image of this beautiful comet was captured by Dan Bartlett. Check out some other great images there.
This comet is thought to have come from the Oort Cloud (which is also mind blowing) and is traveling around space now. We hope you get to see this magnificent object with your eyes! Space is wild!
